How to Have Permanent Perfect Eyebrows

Eyebrows have always been a struggle of mine because my brows are naturally thin. When “fleeky eyebrows” became a trend, my eyebrows (or the lack of) stood out even more. I considered having my eyebrows tattooed and more recently considered getting them micro-bladed. I finally got the courage to get a procedure similar to microblading called Ombré Powder Eyebrows. My procedure was done by Keke, owner of IAppeal Miami @ _iappealmiami on Instagram. My eyebrows have been perfect ever since.

The Difference Between Microbladed and Ombré Powdered Eyebrows

Micro-blading is a procedure which involves a blade cutting into the skin to form what appears to be “hair-like strokes”. Ombre Powdered Eyebrows are created with a machine that shades on the top surface of the skin, creating a powdered makeup appearance . Ombré Powdered brows have recently become popular and are said to do less damage to the skin than the Microblading technique. Both require an original procedure and a follow up procedure. The initial cost of the Microblading procedure is around $450 and $200 for the follow up whereas the Ombre Powder procedure can be booked for around $350 for the initial appointment and $125 for the follow up.

What to Expect

There are a few things to take into consideration before your appointment. Avoid exfoliating and/or getting Botox 3-4 weeks before your visit. 24 hours before, avoid alcohol consumption and heavy sun exposure. This will help with skin delicacy and bleeding. The day of, try to avoid coffee and exercise. All of these things will help in the process of creating your perfect eyebrows.

Probably the most Ombré Powder Eyebrow asked question is “Does it hurt ??. If you’ve ever gotten a tattoo, the feeling is similar. If not and you are sensitive to pain the procedure might be uncomfortable. In my experience at IAppeal Miami, Keke put numbing cream on my eyebrows at the beginning of procedure which took some time to kick in. I felt some discomfort but eventually after the numbing cream set in, the feeling was almost tickling. The procedure takes around 3 hours.

Post Procedure

After your first Ombré Powder procedure you will need a follow up procedure in 5 weeks. This procedure takes around 1 hour. The follow up is to ensure that your eyebrows have healed properly and that the shape and color is perfect. Both the initial procedure and the follow up have a 2-week healing process.

You would still arch your eyebrows regularly and use makeup when you’re going for a bolder look. The base of your eyebrows however are permanently perfect.

Ombre Powdered brows last essentially forever but they begin to fade after 1 to 3 years depending on your skin type. After your first follow up, additional retouches are suggested after 7 weeks or so.
