A Baddies Guide to Black Friday Shopping in 2020

Black Friday is officially this Friday and one can’t help but question will it be any different from the past Black Friday’s? Honestly, is anything really the same anymore ? Here’s a guide on everything you need to know about Black Friday shopping in 2020.

Of course the same requirement to prevent the spread of Covid-19 are still in effect for all of you brave enough to hit the stores. In most states it is still mandatory to wear a face mask in public. However the following states are not required to wear a mask:

  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Idaho
  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • Nebraska
  • Oklahoma
  • South Carolina
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Wyoming

State mandates vary (for example if children are required to wear a mask or not) and in some major cities the governors highly recommend the use of a face mask but one can’t be penalized for not wearing one.

There are still occupancy limits in stores. So if you thought there were long lines the previous years…well, I’ll just leave that sentence right there.

Most stores are starting Black Friday sales online early. Here are a few stores worth shopping at:

Amazon

Amazon has started their Pre-Black Friday sale with countless discounts including up to 60% off items with Alexa.

Expect Walmart to have sales online at 12am this Friday. Doorbuster sales start at 5am. Curbside pickup is available at most of your local locations.

Shopping Hacks

There’s always skepticism on if Black Friday sales are really worth the hype. If you are a dedicated saver you can try adding all of your desired items in your cart before Black Friday. Once the clock strikes 12a on 11/27 you can compare the prices. You might be surprised to see how big (or small) the difference in price is. The only downfall to this method is that items in your cart may be sold out from shoppers who have taken advantage of the Pre-Black Friday sales.

Rumors has it that most companies have hired thousands of more employees to handle the increase of online purchases. There is still no way to know for certain if there will be a delay in your online orders. I would suggest getting anything you need immediately through curbside pickup if that option is available. This also gives you the opportunity to make returns before that process is also backed up.

The main thing to remember while Black Friday shopping is to be patient, the key to what we need for all of 2020.

Stay safe out there and Happy Shopping.
